Summer Tips For Acne Sufferers

Summer means trouble for acne sufferers.

Follow these useful acne tips to keep your pimples from flaring up and ruining your summer. Some people see summer as a great time to; enjoy the sun, and great outdoor recreation, like sports, fishing, cycling, swimming, sun bathing and water skiing.

If you suffer from acne you may have a different perspective. You may be thinking oh here it comes. My skin is going to erupt with zits. It doesn't have to be that way. Just follow these simple tips and you can enjoy the summer with all your friends and not have that terrible break out.

  1. Wear loose fit clothing. If you have any acne on your chest or back it's essential you give your skin breathing room. Don't wear tight clothes. This just irritates the skin and causes acne to flare up. Loose fitting clothing is cooler in the summer time anyway.

  2. Protect your skin from the sun. Cover up. A popular myth is that the sun helps heal your acne. That is not true. The sun damages your skin and causes skin cancer. Why would it miraculously heal your acne? It will cause your acne to become inflamed and your skin will turn red. It's not a pretty sight so just cover up. If you do expose your skin to the sun use a sun block rated at 15spf or greater. This is the minimum recommended sun block protection. Value your skin it's going to be with you the rest of your life.

  3. Use proper hygiene. When you are outdoors enjoying sports activities or just sweating profusely clean up right afterwards. Use a good acne wash to eliminate the bacteria that causes acne. The longer you wait the more time you give your skin to fester with oily skin, dead skin cells, perspiration, and bacteria. This is the perfect combination for a face or body full of pimples.

  4. Don't wait until you break out to do something. Treat your skin on a daily basis and keep your acne at bay. Far too many people wait until they look hideous before they take action. An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of gold when it comes to fighting summer time outbreaks.

You may still break out this summer but you will have a better handle on the situation and prevent it from getting out of control.
